Testament, Anthrax and Kreator
15th December 2024 at the Mainstage
Den Bosch, The Netherlands
Due my European tour with the US Heavy Power Metal band Savage Grace and 2 funerals in one week, there was a lack of time and energy to write a proper live report. Nevertheless in-between the hectic period with my American guest and the other concerts and activities this week, incl. 2 funerals. I finally found the time to write a few lines of this great package in Den Bosch. My buddy Marc and me travelled by train to Den Bosch to see three of my favourite bands from my youth. To kick of with Testament. The band from the Bay Area opened with (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party! by the Beasty Boys. The band played a surprising setlist with overall newer songs, from the past 20 years. The only old songs, the band played was ‘First Strike Is Deadly’ from their debut album ‘The Legacy’ from the year 1987, and ‘In To The Pit’, from their 2nd album ‘New World Order’ from the year 1988. All in all these Bay Area thrashers played with full surrender and passion. The sound was good, as well the stage performance. I liked the show, still I missed a few more classics. Anthrax opened their show with a slide show, full of famous Anthrax fans, like Stephen King, Kerry King, Gene Simmons, Phil Anselmo, Dave Mustaine, Chuck D, all among many others. The show of Anthrax was good, more than good! The setlist was filled with a best of compilation from the past 40 years of Anthrax history. Songs like: Got The Time, Madhouse, Metal Thrashing Mad, Be All, End All, Indians, all among all those others. Every classic was passed by. The voice of Joe Belladonna was great and the band nailed the place to the ground. Also there was nothing wrong with the sound. All bands sounded great tonight and it seems every present fan clearly enjoyed. It was one big moshpit and crowdsurfers all over. We just missed the stage invasion of a fan during the show of Kreator. This because, unfortunately I needed to go home, after Anthrax was finished. The last train and some important funeral, the next day were waiting for me. I was disappointed to miss another favourite band of mine, the band Kreator. But it was as it was, and I am grateful for the invitation of the agency ‘Loud Noise Productions’, for the great night of thrash metal madness.
