Body Count (Feat ICE T)

Plus support act: Slope

Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

After a nice day in Amsterdam and a good but expensive meal at an Italian restaurant we arrived at one of the most legendary concert venues in The Netherlands : Paradiso. That night the American Metal band Body Count was playing there, with its frontmen/singer and well-known rap artist ICE T. The German support act Slope was a good warm up and played a kind of ‘crossover metal’, just like Mucky Pup. They were okay, but I missed the interaction with the audience. After a little break, Body Count entered the stage and damn! : they blew up the spot ! The band was full of energy and totally on fire. Its setlist was a great combination of old and new songs and ICE T brought his entire family on stage, for example his son Little Ice (who’s a great entertainer) and also his 8 year old daughter to sing the song: talk shit with him, very cool!  Totally bad ass but with love for his family! I really digged this concert! I also love the respect he shows to his favourite Metal and Rock bands like: Black Sabbath, Suicidal Tendencies, Slayer and I'm quite sure most BC fans did appreciate the Pink Floyd tribute at the end! ICE T showed the world he’s not just a Rapper, but the fans know he is much more than that, of course. Body Count goes way back to the year 1990 and their ’92 self-titled album “Body Count” is still a classic. What a night : the club was one big steamy moshpit and the fans got wild. Personal highlights in the set were: “Body Count In The House, Raining Blood (Slayer cover), Bowels of the Devil, There Goes the Neighborhood, Manslaughter, Psychopath, Voodoo, COP KILLER!!!, Born Dead, including everything else! I enjoyed every single minute and I am quite sure every other visitor did the same. Thank you ICE T and also Ernie C (guitar) for bringing the best in Metal and Rap together and uniting the fans of both styles. I have been a fan of your music since I was a teenager and still am.
