Haliphron, Ad Infinitum and Arch Enemy at Pop podium 013

Haliphron, Ad Infinitum and Arch Enemy at Pop podium 013, Tilburg, Netherlands. June 14th, 2023.

After a day of relaxing and hanging with good friends and neighbours. We went to Pop podium 013 to see three female fronted Metal bands from a certain higher level.

The first band “Haliphron” is new and comes from The Netherlands and we formerly knew them as Izegrim. Brutal Death Metal with Thrash and Black Metal Metal elements. I was very impressed and really digged the symphonic style of extreme Metal. Front lady Marloes has a great variated brutal style of singing/grunting which suits the music perfectly. A great band that reminds me somehow to bands like: Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir and others.

The second band for tonight was “Ad Infinitum” and comes from Switzerland. And what to say? Melissa's symphonic vocals with brutal parts mixed with talent of the entire band were incredible. Symphonic but very heavy. I was never a fan of this style of, “so called female fronted symphonic Metal”. Nevertheless thanks to both female friends (Kimberley and Eden) who took me to this concert tonight. I can now just say wow! This band is very good!

Arch Enemy from Sweden topped this night off with their melodic style of Death Metal. Super tight and heavy with Alissa, one of the greatest and most beautiful lady’s in Metal. Her stage performance, including her brutal and melodic voice are really amazing. Arch Enemy is a super dedicated band with excellent song writing and a lot of energy.  A great night with three bands that overwhelmed me for sure.
