Thrashing Death Metal band Murder Van are from Atlanta, Georgia, USA and have just released Crooked Smiles. It's an EP with four songs, clocking just under 20 minutes in total. What you get is old school death metal with thrash riffs imbedded into the core, so potentially you could have the best of both worlds.

Well, it actually is like that, as these guys do make the combination work for them. And as it is fitting for the musicians it will translate itself in such a manner that it will suit you as a listener. It has done for me. I like the thrashy undertones to the death metal vibe and vice versa.
