Flotsam And Jetsam is an American Thrash Metal band founded in Phoenix, Arizona back in the year 1984. I discovered them through the ‘’Stars On Thrash” compilation LP from 1988 and I liked them since the beginning. Now the band released their 16th studio album and the band still kicks ass. Founding member Erik is a fucking beast on vocals and his vocals are still top-notch. Crystal clear, but with less high-pitch screams. Well the entire album is full of good songs with really great guitar riffs and solo’s. Some of these include kick ass fast drum parts. The music also has a really great in your face production. Flotsam And Jetsam changed a little bit through the years. This has been happening for many years already, so don’t expect another Doomsday For The Deceiver or No Place for Disgrace. Their newer songs got a more old school Power Prog Metal sound with balls and melodies, similar to bands like Iced Earth, Iron Maiden and Helloween. There are also some very cool enjoyable story lines in their songs and after 40 years this far underrated band still breaths Metal in its purest form!
